Identifying Your Tailcap Version
To ensure compatibility with your light, you must identify if your tailcap is a 1st or 2nd generation tailcap.
In most cases, if your Streamlight was manufactured prior to June 2022, it will have a Gen-1 tailcap.
If it is brand new, or was manufactured in or after July 2022, it is most likely a Gen-2 tailcap.
To guarantee compatibility with your Streamlight, match your stock tailcap switch style using the photo below. Gen-1 tailcaps use an orange rubber plunger inside the switch housing, Gen-2 tailcaps use a built-in black nub.
