How does the Shake Awake feature work, and will it activate inside my holster?
Shake Awake uses motion sensors to detect movement and instantly power on from sleep mode. The optic must be left on and allowed to enter sleep mode naturally (not manually powered off with both buttons) for this feature to work. The default 10-minute sleep timer can be adjusted to 1 hour, 12 hours, or disabled entirely. Minor vibrations or holster movements may occasionally wake the optic, but this has minimal impact on the exceptional 50,000-hour battery life at medium settings.
What’s the difference between the 407K and 507K models?
The HE407K-GR X2 features a single 6 MOA green dot reticle, while the 507K-GR X2 includes Holosun’s Multi-Reticle System (MRS) with three options: a 2 MOA dot, a 32 MOA circle, or both combined. The 407K is typically less expensive, and many users prefer the simplicity of a single dot for defensive applications. Can I co-witness my iron sights with this optic mounted?
Yes, the HE407K-GR X2 features a rear notch cut into the housing that allows lower 1/3 co-witness with most factory height sights on directly compatible slides. When using an adapter plate, co-witnessing depends on the plate thickness and your iron sight height—standard height sights may be partially obscured while suppressor-height sights typically co-witness well. The window size is 0.58″ x 0.77″, which works for close to mid-range defensive distances but is smaller than full-size pistol optics.
